☂King Kong

Warning... if you have never seen the movie King Kong:
1st: go buy it and watch it because you need to see it! The original though, although the new one is good too.
2nd: Do not read this because I talk a lot about the plot and I reveal the ending... although if you didn't already know the ending... do you live in a hole?
Right now I am watching one of the best movies ever made! Unfortunately it is not the original which is much better, but the story line is the best part so it's ok. KING KONG!!!!!!! It makes me cry every time! It is kind of like Frankenstein in that Kong is so misunderstood just like Frankenstein's monster. They both just want to have a friend. Nothing more and nothing less. And in the end they loose everything. Their lives included. Although in Frankenstein there is no official scene in which the monster kills himself so there is a lot of run offs of the story saying that he never did, still.
Kong dies to protect the one friend he had. He shows human emotion. On the cliff at sunset, on the frozen lake, he laughs and is sad. He is mad only when the humans try and take him away from his home, and when they try and take away his friend, Ann. Kong is supposed to be this scary monster than kills and should be feared; but instead he is sweet and caring. His only problem is that he is misunderstood. If he was just left on the island he would have been fine.
Of course the most famous scene in the whole movie is when Kong and Ann are on the Empire State Building and all of the fighter planes are trying to kill Kong.
This movie does a great job of making the audience feel attached to Kong and at the same time hate him for taking Ann away from Jack. The scene on the frozen lake for example, Kong laughs and so does Ann. They have fun skating around on the ice and we feel happy for them. Then the happiness is disturbed by tanks closing in on them and shooting at Kong. We hate them for breaking up the scene of happiness and we take the side of Kong, even though the people are only doing what they have to do to keep the public safe. This happens again on the Empire State Building. It seems as though Kong is doing nothing wrong when he is suddenly attacked. We forget the things that he has done in the past and cry for him when he is shot down, only protecting Ann. In the end we are mad with the people. When in the beginning of the movie Kong was the one we feared. Even after he saved Ann from the dinosaurs, he still is scary.
They could have just left him on the island.

a dancer.
